Even CBC commentators said live on air that Mao had a fever and that there was a lot of talk about Mao's illness in both the SP and LP at the NHK, not to mention how much she was sweating and how pale and weak she was in the K&C. Then after a really good Grand Prix Final SP with a great triple axel and triple flip and loop in the SP, except for the lutz which she could easily and should replace to get a much higher score, Mao got the stomach flu which was widely reported since she withdrew from the gala. Kindly have a bit more consideration and circumspection of the true situation before making critical claims about Mao's performance while withholding highly relevant facts. The fact that Mao doesn't complain about and still tries to do her best deserves more consideration and investigation especially since she has won more world and Grand Prix championships than any Asian women ever. Also, arena was incredibly hot during the freeskate at Cup of China and several reported soft ice. Even last year's World champion and winner of the Cup of China had a tough skate there with two falls. Mao has not had ideal conditions for her freeskate since the Japan Open.

Mao has also not gotten any of the inflation in scoring that other skaters have enjoyed through huge increases in PCS and obvious urs on Satoko and Elena were overlooked. Mao should have also placed above Gracie Gold because it was ridiculous to give Mao a lower score in her step sequence. The "elephant in the room" that is never discussed is biased scoring. It's clear she never fully recovered since NHK. I really hope her people take this sickness seriously and get her the help she needs, because her health will only get worse if they and she put competitions first.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11007836707079714264noreply@blogger.com
